This fastening mechanism for access panels and grills is design for use in a variety of applications, where the opening is made in any kind of paneling, plastic or sheet metal structures, or applience. Majority of use will be found in openings in paneling of walls and ceilings and in duct works in building constructions. The system enables for a fast and rigid installation of access panels and grills, in which it is only required to make an adequate opening in paneling or sheet metal etc., without having to install any frame, and/or having to attach the grills to the studs. In this invention the rotation of a single screw enables for the installation or removal of the access panel or grill, which rotation causes the fastening arm to swing in to insert/remove position and to tighten of the panel in place after the arm automatically returns to the installation position. Reverse rotation of the screw will loosen the panel or grill and enables for removal of the access door from the opening.
