An assembly for fastening a railway rail (3) to a rail foundation (6) Comprises a rail (3), a rail fastening clip (1') suitable for holding down a railway rail (3), and an anchoring device (250) for retaining a railway rail fastening Clip (1'), wherein the clip (1') is formed of a rod of material bent so as to be approximately M-shaped in plan and is provided on at least one leg of the M with first locating means (18), which device (250) is provided with second locating means (253b, 253c) for cooperating with said first locating means (18) so as to locate the said clip (1') at a desired position with respect to the anchoring device (250) when installed therein, wherein at least one abutment surface forms one of said first and second locating means (18/253b, 253c) and at least one cooperating projection forms the other of the first and second locating means (18/253b, 253c), both the abutment surface and one face of the cooperating projection being acutely inclined in one sense to the longitudinal axis of the leg of the M having said first locating means (18) thereon such that the said one face of the said cooperating projection abuts against the said abutment surface so as to locate the clip (1'), but such that driving of the clip (1') in either of two directions parallel to the said axis forces said projection out of contact with said abutment surface.

Un ensemble permettant de fixer un rail (3) de chemin de fer à une base (6) de rail, comprend un rail (3), un crapaud de fixation (1) servant à retenir un rail (3), et un dispositif d'ancrage (250) servant à retenir le crapaud de fixation (1'), lequel est composé d'une tige d'un matériau plié de façon à présenter une forme plus ou moins en M, et l'une des branches du M étant pourvue d'un premier élément de positionnement (18). Le dispositif d'ancrage (250) est pourvu de seconds éléments de positionnement (253b, 253c) coopérant avec le premier (18) pour placer ledit crapaud (1') en une position requise par rapport au dispositif d'ancrage (250) lorsqu'il est disposé à l'intérieur de celui-ci. L'un desdits premier et second éléments de positionnement (18/253b, 253c) est constitué par une surface de butée, et l'autre élément (18/253b, 253c) est composé d'au moins une protubérance coopérante, la surface de butée et une face de la protubérance coopérante étant toutes deux inclinées à un angle aigu en une direction par rapport à l'axe longitudinal de la branche du M qui comporte le premier élément de positionnement (18), de sorte que la face de la protubérance coopérante aboutit contre la face de butée de manière à positionner le crapaud (1'), mais de façon que l'entraînement du crapaud (1') dans l'une des deux directions parallèles audit axe pousse la protubérance hors de contact avec la surface de butée.
