ABSTRACT A wire belt coat composition for tires in- cludes conventional antioxidant and antiozonant additive compounds such as a dihydro-trimethylquinoline and an alkyl-aryl para-phenylenediamine, respectively. A hindered bisphenol of the type heretofore traditional- ly utilized as the sole antioxidant component in rubber polymer compositions, is added to the wire belt coat composition recipe already containing the aforementioned conventional antioxidant and antiozonant compounds, and unexpectedly improves fatigue resistance in the wire belt coat composition. Adhesion properties of the wire belt coat composition to the brass-plated steel wire cords is retained.
