ABSTRACT A fatty acid feed stock for dimerization and a method for preparing a fatty acid feed stock from a first source of fatty acids which are rich in oleic acids and from a second source of fatty acids which are rich in linoleic acids. In particular, the present invention is directed to blending from about 35 to about 45 percent by wieght of crude red oil with from about 55 to about 65 percent by weight of soap stock derived from soy bean oil to provide a fatty acid feed stock.
