ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a fluid control valve for use with a faucet. The valve has a movable valve element and a stationary valve element for regulating fluid flow through the valve in response to rotation of the movable element over the stationary element. A rotatable spindle has a driving end which engages a groove structure in the movable valve element. The groove structure is capable of receiving the driving end in two positions more than 10° but less than 170° apart. The spindle has a projection which engages a stop on the interior of the valve body to limit rota- tion of the spindle.
