FCC FEED NOZZLE APPARATUS AND FCC PROCESS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed in a method and apparatus for feeding catalyst, oil and optionally steam into a fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) riser 2. Oil passes through oil lines into nozzles 8, 10, 12 at a lower portion of the riser, optionally with steam, and the oil, or the combined oil and steam mixture passed through the nozzles 8, 10, 12 into the riser 2. Flow control to all or some of the nozzles obtains a substantially constant catalyst to oil ratio across the riser 2. The substantially constant catalyst to oil ratio is represented by a substantially isothermal temperature profile across the riser 2. This may be detected by measuring the temperature at various points across the riser 2. The oil (and optionally steam) flow rates are adjusted until more uniform catalyst/oil mixing is achieved.
