ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is a noble Fe-base soft magnetic alloy having excellent soft magnetic properties, especially low magnetostriction and low iron loss. The alloy is made by adding a determined amount of a specific element M, preferably a determined amount of Zr or the like. A determined amount of Cu is further added to the alloy. The quenched alloy having such composition is formed to a certain shape like ribbon, powder or thin film and heat-treated to provide the Fe-base soft magnetic alloy whose structure consists of at least 30 % of fine crystalline particles.
