ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A feed additive, passing the rumen of ruminants, in the form of particles consisting of, in each case relative to the total weight, 30 to 50 percent by weight of at least one biologically active substance, 10 to 35 percent by weight of at least one sodium, potassium or calcium salt of an aliphatic monocarboxylic acid, containing 14 to 22 carbon atoms or of ricinoleic acid and the balance to make up 100 percent by weight and present in at least 30 percent by weight of at least one aliphatic monocarboxylic acid containing 14 to 22 carbon atoms and/or of ricinoleic acid and/or of a hardened vegetable or animal fat. The feed additive is used in a daily dose of 1 to 100 g for feeding ruminants. The particles are acted upon in the acid medium of the fourth stomach to set the biologically active substances free.
