A feed forward RF power amplifier which provides both high efficiency and minimal distortion in broad bandwidth RF applications. The feed forward power amplifier includes a main amplifier (16) biased to provide high efficiency and an error amplifier (34) biased to provide highly linear operation through substantially the entire operating range. Signal peaks which introduce distortion components at the main amplifier output are cancelled by the linear operation of the error amplifier (34).
La présente invention concerne un amplificateur de puissance radioélectrique à correction aval qui assure une efficacité élevée et une distorsion minimale dans des applications radioélectriques à large bande passante. Ledit amplificateur de puissance à correction aval comprend un amplificateur principal (16) polarisé pour assurer une efficacité élevée et un amplificateur d'erreur (34) polarisé pour assurer un fonctionnement hautement linéaire sensiblement dans l'ensemble de la plage de fonctionnement. Des pics de signaux qui introduisent des composantes de distorsion au niveau de la sortie de l'amplificateur principal sont annulés par le fonctionnement linéaire de l'amplificateur d'erreur (34).
