A feed supplement for increasing the plasma amino acid level of animals, including animal feed and liquid lysine base, where the liquid lysine base has a concentration between about 45% and about 55%, and has a pH level of between about 9.5 and about 10.5, a chloride content between about 0.10% and about 0.15%, a bulk density of between about 1.14 and about 1.17 g/cm3, and a maximum moisture level of between about 42% and about 48%. The animal feed may either be dry feed, liquid feed, drinking water or milk replacers, or a combination thereof. The present invention also includes a method of increasing the plasma amino acid level of animals, including the steps of providing animal feed, and supplementing the animal feed with an amino acid supplement comprising liquid lysine base having a concentration between about 45% and about 55%, and having a pH level of between about 9.5 and about 10.5.
L'invention concerne un aliment complémentaire permettant d'augmenter le niveau des acides aminés plasmatiques des animaux qui comprend un aliment pour animaux et une lysine base liquide. Ladite lysine base liquide présente une concentration comprise entre environ 45% et 55%, un niveau de pH compris entre environ 9,5 et 10,5, une teneur en chlorure comprise entre environ 0,10% et 0,15%, une masse volumique en vrac comprise entre environ 1,14 et 1,17 g/cm?3¿ et une teneur maximale d'humidité comprise entre environ 42% et 48%. L'aliment pour animaux peut être un aliment sec, un aliment liquide, des succédanés d'eau ou de lait de boisson ou une combinaison de ceux-ci. L'invention concerne également un procédé permettant d'augmenter le niveau des acides aminés plasmatiques qui consiste à fournir un aliment pour animaux et à ajouter un complément à cet aliment au moyen d'un complément d'acides aminés renfermant une lysine base liquide dont la concentration est comprise entre environ 45% et 55% et dont le niveau de pH est compris entre environ 9,5 et 10,5.
