FEEDER FOR FINELY DIVIDED PARTICULATE MATERIAL ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to feeding apparatus suitable for metering finely divided particulate material. The apparatus includes a housing having an upper wall, a lower wall, side walls, an inlet and an outlet. The inlet is suitably located in the upper wall and the outlet is suitably located in the lower wall. There is also provided a conveyor in the form of a continuous belt located in the housing and extending across the width of the housing for conveying particulate material from the inlet to the outlet. There is also provided a plurality of sealing cleats associated with the conveyor belt and extending across the width of the belt whereby the particulate material may be conveyed from the inlet to the outlet in metered amounts. Preferably, the cleats are attached to the continuous belt and are formed at least partly from flexible material at their respective edge portions which engage the housing.
