A feeding apparatus and method for delivering tablets or preforms to an encapsulating machine is disclosed. The apparatus includes a number of vertically extending chutes, each capable of holding a number of tablets aligned in a row along the respective chute. A plunger mechanism temporarily engages one of the tablets in the chute so as to prevent downward movement of the tablet and all pills located above it in the chute. A rotatable feed roll is located adjacent a bottom end section of the chutes and this roll has a number of tablet cavities, each capable of holding an individual tablet. Pivotable stop members are used to prevent temporarily downward movement of the bottom pill in each chute, this pill being located downstream of the plunger. These stop members move to a pill releasing position when the plungers are engaging their respective tablets in the chutes. Each stop member prevents downward movement of its respective row of pills in the chute past the stop member when the plunger is moved to a position of disengagement.
L'invention porte sur un appareil et un procédé d'alimentation de comprimés ou préformes dans une machine d'encapsulation. Cet appareil comprend un nombre de sacs s'étendant verticalement, chacun pouvant retenir un nombre de comprimés alignés sous forme de rangée le long de chaque sac. Un mécanisme plongeur met en contact provisoire l'un des comprimés dans le sac de façon à empêcher le mouvement descendant du comprimé et de toutes les pilules placées au-dessus de celui-ci dans le sac. Un cylindre d'alimentation rotatif est placé à côté d'une section terminale inférieure des sacs et comporte un nombre de cavités pouvant conserver chacune un comprimé individuel. Des éléments de butée pivotants sont utilisés pour empêcher provisoirement le mouvement descendant du plongeur. Ces éléments de butée se déplacent vers une position libérant les pilules lorsque les plongeurs viennent en contact avec les comprimés respectifs dans les sacs. Chaque élément de butée empêche sa rangée de pilules respective de descendre dans le sac et de dépasser l'élément de butée lorsque le plongeur se déplace vers une position de dégagement.
