ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The disclosure describes a method and composition for protecting animals, including humans, against infectious viruses for which humoral immunity generally is not protective and relates to a method of producing a safe and effective fixed cell vaccine and the resultant vaccine. The vaccine is produced by infecting whole cells with live virus under conditions such that antigen expression takes place on the surface of the cells, fixing the infected cells and separating the fixed cells.
