A system for controlling drainage of the female bladder comprising a valved catheter, a stylet for placing the catheter in the female urethra, and a spike for opening the valve in the catheter to allow voiding of the contents of the bladder which also includes sensing and transmission means incorporated therein. The valve which may be integral with the shaft or located in a cap on the shaft may be manually operated or opened electronically by a signal transmitted from an external source.

Un sytème, qui permet de maîtriser la fonction d'évacuation de la vessie chez la femme, comprend un cathéter à soupape, un stylet permettant de mettre ce cathéter en place dans l'urètre féminin, et une pointe qui permet d'ouvrir la soupape disposée dans le cathéter pour permettre de vider le contenu de la vessie, et qui comprend aussi un dispositif de détection et de transmission incorporé. La soupape peut être intégrée à la tige ou dans une capsule disposée sur cette tige et elle peut être actionnée manuellement ou ouverte électroniquement par un signal émis par une source externe.
