ABSIRACT A hitch for connecting a sulky shaft to a harness on a horse. A first portion of the hitch is attached to the harness and has horizontally extending plates with aligned holes therein. A vertical bolt positioned within the aligned holes holds a first member having a pair of arms with aligned holes therein. The first member is adapted to pivot relative to the base about the vertical axis of the bolt. A horizontal bolt is positioned in the aligned holes on the first member and holds a second member which is adapted for pivotal movement about the axis of the horizontal bolt. A second portion of the device is adapted to be attached to a shaft of a sulky and consists of a clamp having a sleeve with a rotatable pin attached thereto. The pin is adapted to mate with the second member to hold the two portions of the hitch together while providing a desired degree of freedom of movement between the sulky shaft and the harness.
