The pickling process designed for pickling electrical steel strip in a continuous fashion comprising immersing the strip in at least one pickling tub. The pickling tub contains a mixture of HCl, Fe2+, and Fe3+ and a low concentration of HF. Upon exiting the final pickling tub, the strip may be brushed or scrubbed to loosen any residual scale to form a clean strip.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de décapage conçu pour décaper une bande de tôle magnétique de façon continue qui consiste à plonger la bande dans au moins une cuve de décapage contenant un mélange de HCl, Fe2+ et Fe3+ et une faible concentration de HF. En sortie de la dernière cuve de décapage, la bande peut être brossée ou grattée pour décoller toute calamine résiduelle afin d'obtenir une bande propre.
