ABSTRACT Provided are novel ferrocene derivatives represented by the general formula: Image (wherein R1 and R2 are independently hydrogen, a methyl group, an ethyl group, a methoxy group or a carbomethoxy group, m is an integer of 1 to 4, n is an integer of 1 to 5, r is an integer of 11 to 18, and s is a real number of 2.0 to 70.0) or the general formula: Image (wherein w is an integer of 2 to 20, and R1, R2, m, n and s are the same as described above), by application of an electrochemical method using the novel ferrocene derivatives or other ferrocene derivatives as micelle forming agents (surfactants), where an organic thin film of a hydrophobic organic substance can be efficiently produced.
