One-piece, elastomeric gaskets (30, 130) for ferrous pipe couplings (16, 116, 316, 416) and the like are prelubricated with a coating of dry powder lubricant (40) before installation. This coating can be applied before installation and as early as assembly by the manufacturer. The gaskets are combined with split ring collars (20, 120, 320, 420) to form couplings for pneumatic and hydraulic piping systems, including fire sprinkler systems, among others. The lubricant can be an organic starch powder derived from corn, rice, potatoes or other crops, talc or its primary ingredient, magnesium silicate hydroxide, or a combination of organic or organic and inorganic lubricant powders.

L'invention concerne des garnitures élastomères (30, 130) monobloc destinées à des couplages de tuyaux (16, 116, 316, 416), prélubrifiées à l'aide d'un revêtement de lubrifiant (40) de poudre sèche avant son installation. Ledit revêtement peut s'appliquer avant l'installation et dès l'assemblage par le fabricant. Le lubrifiant peut être une poudre d'amidon organique dérivée du maïs, du riz, des pommes de terre et d'autres récoltes, du talc ou de son ingrédient primaire, d'hydroxyde de silicate de magnésium, ou d'une combinaison de poudres lubrifiantes organiques ou inorganiques..
