ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention provides a deformable ferrule for use in coupling hose which has a sidewall portion that decreases in thickness going longitu- dinally of the ferrule from a fitting end to a hose end. As well a method of deforming an exterior frustroconical surface portion of the ferrule to a generally cylindrical shape while simultaneously forming an inside surface portion of the ferrule to a generally frustoconical shape is provided.
