ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE FERTILITY DRUG AND METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SAME A synthetic method of producing ferulyl phyto- stanol derivative of formula I Image (R : --CH3 or --C2H5) is disclosed. The method comprises acetylating ferulic acid with a mixture of pyridine and acetic anhydride, treating the product with thionyl chloride to form an acid chloride, reacting the acid chloride and phytostanol in the presence of pyridine to prepare phytostanol compound and deacetylating this compound with sodium boron hydride. The derivative has ovulation-inducing effect and is useful in preparing fertility drugs.
