Disclosed is a composite material reinforced with fiber bundles having a ceramic matrix, comprising two different fractions of fiber bundles, a reinforcing fiber bundle fraction and a matrix fiber bundle fraction, with different average fiber bundle length, which are separated in the total fiber bundle distribution with respect to the fiber bundle length by a minimum. The composite material is useful in applications requiring great temperature resistance with simultaneous strength and ductility.
