ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A selectively mateable connector system is disclosed for mating a fiber optic connector assembly to another circuit member. The fiber optic connector assembly is in the form of an electrical plug which includes an optic electronic device having a lens which is adapted to receive the end of an optic fiber in close proximity and in alignment therewith. A single unitary housing is provided for receiving the optoelectronic device and the optic fiber end in mating relationship. Terminal means connected to the optoelec- tronic device and extending from the housing are adapted to be selectively and electrically mated and unmated with the other circuit member.
