A fiber optic termination assembly is provided to terminate a fiber optic riser cable to a local communications cable that is contained on a dynamic platform. The termination assembly includes a first cable connector assembly and a second cable connector assembly where the first cable connector assembly and second cable connector assembly are securely joined together to form a rigid connection between the first and second connector assemblies. The first cable connector assembly secures the armor jacket of the riser cable within the connector assembly. The second cable connector assembly secures the internal strength members of both the local cable and the riser cable within it and joins the fibers of the local cable to the fibers of the riser cable.
