The present invention includes a method and system of measuring alteration, alteration type, and alteration-causing species in process fluids and equipment and for controlling the process feeds and conditions to maximize the yields and equipment lifetime by minimizing the alteration. The invention includes an optical sensor comprising an optical fiber, a fiber grating written within the optical fiber, strain-tuned elements fixed to the optical fiber and an unaltered element, and an altered element fixed to the unaltered element.

Procédé et système permettant de mesurer une altération, un type d'altération et une espèce engendrant l'altération dans des fluides de travail et des équipements de contrôle de l'alimentation en charge de travail, et de déterminer des conditions visant à optimiser les rendements et la durée de vie d'équipement en réduisant au minimum l'altération. Capteur optique comprenant une fibre optique, un réseau en fibre inscrit dans ladite fibre, des éléments accordés par contrainte fixés à la fibre optique et un élément non altéré, ainsi qu'un élément altéré fixé à l'élément non altéré.
