ABSTRACT A unitary assembly 10, as shown in Figure 2, including a linear array of optical fibers 44 for replacing a conventional lens in a copy machine, which conveys images of sequentially illuminated lines on a graphic original onto a moving receptor surface. Light from source 18, 20 is directed onto a light collection member 45, and is directed therethrough and thence through the fibers 44 to directly illuminate a line on the original.
