The invention is that of a new triphenodioxazine dye of the fomula: Image wherein T is independently selected from Cl and Br; Q is: Image K is SO3H; n is independently selected from O or 1; R2 selected from hydrogen or C1 to C4 alkyl; R4 is selected from H, Cl, Br, C1 to C4 alkyl, or C1 to C4 alkoxy; D is selected from a covalent bond or C1 to C8 alkylene which may be interruptedby a hetero atom selected from O, N or S; and Y1 is selected from vinyl, .beta.-sulfatoethyl, .beta.-thiosulfatoethyl, .beta.-halogenethyl or .beta.-phosphatoethyl. The dyes of the invention may be applied from aqueous dyebaths employing low salt concentrations.
