Fibers are added to a gelation solution and the mixture is pumped to a subterranean injection site where it gets in place. The gelation solution is preferably comprised of partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide polymer and a crosslinking agent, while the fibers are those which do not interfere with the gelation process and can provide adequate reinforcement while not adversely affecting the ability of the solution to be pumped and injected. Glass fibers and cellulosic fibers are specifically disclosed as preferable reinforcing fibers.

Après addition de fibres à une solution de gélification, on pompe le mélange ainsi obtenu dans un site d'injection souterrain, où il se dépose. Cette solution est de préférence constituée d'un polymère de polyacrylamide partiellement hydrolysé et d'un agent de réticulation; les fibres sont du type qui n'interfère pas avec le procédé de gélification et qui renforcent efficacement la solution sans nuire au pompage et à l'injection de cette dernière. On privilégie spécifiquement les fibres de verre et les fibres cellulosiques comme fibres de renforcement.
