In a process of making an absorbent article (351) such as a sanitary napkin or a disposable diaper, hydrophilic fibers and crimped or coiled synthetic fibers are supplied in a single fiberboard to a defiberising means such as a hammermill (322). The process results in a homogeneous and resilient blended absorbent core that can be produced using a single defiberising unit. The crimped or coiled fibers pass through the defiberising means without their two- or three-dimensional structure being adversely affected at a relatively low defiberisation energy.
Dans un procédé servant à fabriquer un article absorbant (351), tel qu'une serviette en papier ou une couche jetable, on introduit dans un moyen de défibrage, tel qu'un broyeur à marteaux (322), un panneau de fibres unique contenant des fibres hydrophiles et des fibres synthétiques resserrées ou enroulées. Le procédé permet d'obtenir une partie intérieure absorbante mélangée, homogène et élastique pouvant être fabriquée au moyen d'une seule unité de défibrage. Les fibres resserrées ou enroulées passent à travers le moyen de défibrage sans subir des effets négatifs sur leurs structures bi- ou tridimensionnelles, à une puissance de défibrage relativement faible.
