FIBERIZED WELDING FLUX Abstract A siliceous mineral fiberized flux having a relatively substantial silica content and providing electrical insula- tion as well as a source of flux is produced by melting a siliceous mineral flux to fluidity, pouring the fluid flux in a substantially uniform stream and intersecting the flux stream by a high velocity gas stream. The gas stream shreds the fluid flux into fibrous flux material which may be compressed to blanket form.
