A fiberoptic lighting system has a light source with a bulbous section and a plurality of plastic light pipes having substantially circular cross sections. A collector has an inlet for receiving light from the light source and an outlet. The collector performs an area-to-angle conversion on light it collects from the light source. A plurality of rods receives light from the collector and passes such light to the plastic light pipes, while thermally isolating the plastic light pipes from the light source. A perimeter of an outlet of the collector has a plurality of shaped portions, each associated with, and each substantially shaped the same as, a substantial portion of an associated perimeter of a respective one of the plurality or rods. The foregoing system delivers a higher percentage of light from a light source into multiple light pipes than in a prior art system.
Ce système d'éclairage par fibres optique comporte une source de lumière à section bulbeuse et une pluralité de fibres à section sensiblement circulaire. Un collecteur comporte une entrée recevant la lumière de la source lumineuse et une sortie. Il convertit de droit à incliné la lumière recueillie de la source. Une pluralité de barres reçoit la lumière du collecteur et la communique aux fibres en plastique, tout en isolant thermiquement de la source de lumière les fibres en plastique. Un périmètre d'une sortie du collecteur comporte une pluralité de parties profilées, associées chacune à une grande partie d'un périmètre associé, conservant alors sensiblement la même forme, de chacune des différentes barres. Ce système restitue aux fibres optiques une proportion de lumière plus importante que les système selon l'état de la technique.
