Fibers and other articles of manufacture have a near-infrared fluorescent compositions, useful as identification markers, attached to the fiber or article of manufacture by a cross-linking agent. The marker compositions may contain other ingredients, such as antistats, antimicrobials and/or other additives mixed therein. Effective cross-linking can be obtained by several means, including heating in an oven, air-drying, etc. A method for marking the fiber or article includes contacting the material with a cross-linking agent and a near-infrared fluorescing compound having an absorbance of illumination radiation ranging from about 650 nm to about 100 nm.

L'invention se rapporte à des fibres et autres articles fabriqués comportant des compositions à fluorescence dans le proche infrarouge, utiles en tant que marqueurs d'identification, fixées aux fibres ou aux articles fabriqués par un agent de réticulation. Ces compositions de marquage peuvent contenir d'autres ingrédients, tels que des agents antistatiques, des agents antimicrobiens et/ou être additionnées d'adjuvants. On parvient à une réticulation efficace par différents moyens, et notamment par chauffage dans un four, par séchage à l'air, etc. L'invention se rapporte à un procédé de marquage de fibres ou d'articles consistant à mettre en contact la matière avec un agent de réticulation et avec un composé à fluorescence dans le proche infrarouge doté d'une absorbance des rayonnements lumineux s'étalant de 650 nm environ à 1100 nm environ.
