In the placement of communications cableing, there are many variations of how it is protected and how it is placed. The usual methods include burying the cable underground or suspending it from poles placed in the ground. In this invention the communications cableing is encased in a resilient tubing which is attached at ground level to the metal rail tie plates on a railway structure through the use of bolts and metal circle clamps, parallel to the existing rail on a railway track. This method of communications cableing placement can be achieve at a high rate of speed for a fraction of the cost of current placement methods. The resilient tubing will protect the communications cableing from incidents such as vandalism and acts of nature. A conductive jacket encasing the communications cableing will monitor the rail parallel to the cableing through a signal being generated from a fixed point on the rail which travels through and along the rail. The rail will radiate the signal that will be received by the conductive jacket encasing the communications cableings' core and will carry this signal to devices that will read any variations in the signal. The variations will then be measured using a zero point and the invention will be able to calculate when the rail has become misaligned, buckled or an object is obstructing the rail.

La protection et la mise en place des câbles de communications comportent de nombreuses variantes. Les méthodes habituelles comprennent l'enfouissement et la suspension sur poteaux. Selon la présente invention, le câblage de communications est placé dans un tube souple que l'on fixe, au niveau du sol, aux selles de rail d'une voie ferrée et parallèlement à celle-ci, au moyen de boulons et de colliers de serrage métalliques. Cette méthode d'établissement permet des vitesses élevées d'avancement des travaux à un coût sensiblement inférieur à celui des méthodes habituelles. Le tube souple a pour objet de protéger le câblage contre les actes de vandalisme et les intempéries. Une gaine conductrice du câblage de communications servira à contrôler l'état du rail contre lequel elles placée, par l'intermédiaire d'un signal généré en un point fixe du rail et se propageant le long de celui-ci. Le rail agissant radiateur transmet le signal à la gaine conductrice du câblage de communications qui en assurera la transmission à des dispositifs destinés à détecter les variations du signal et à les comparer à une valeur de référence zéro. L'écart enregistré permettra de déterminer si le rail a dévié, s'il s'est tordu ou si une obstruction s'y trouve.
