ABSTRACT The object of the present invention is a fibre structure that is based on polyester, polyamide, or polyolefin fibres, which essentially contain A) polyester, polyamide; or polyolefin fibres of 3 to 1,000 dtex and a staple fibre length that varies from 20 mm to infinity and B) multi-component fibres of a composition that is identical to that of the first fibres, which is to say polyester, polyamide, or polyolefin, of 3 to 3,000 dtex and a fibre length that varies from 20 mm to infinity or, in pace of the multi-component fibres B), a thermoplastic polymer powder of the same degree of polymerisation. In addition, the present invention relates to a process used mainly to produce mats from these fibre structures and the use of these to produce shaped parts. As a result a production that is carried out exclusively by force and energy without the use of any sort of bonding agents that contain solvents, these can be produced without waste; it is also possible to re-use the materials during production and after salvage, and it is also possible to achieve a high level of automization by including surface enhancement in a stage of the process.
