ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A fibrous casing material comprising: 1) a composition comprising an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and a plasticizer; and 2) paper, and a process of producing the fibrous casing material by coating a paste prepared by dissolving composition 1) into an alcohol-water mixed solvent on one or both surfaces of the paper 2) or by impregnating an alcohol-water mixed solvent contain- ing a plasticizer into paper 2) and laminating a film of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer on one or both surfaces of the paper, are disclosed.
