A fibrous substrate for making a coated abrasive article, containing urea or a mixture of urea and at least one hygroscopic material, particularly a mixture of urea and an inorganic salt, and especially of urea and sodium nitrate, is disclosed. Coated abrasive articles consisting of said substrate and abrasive grains adhered to one side thereof by means of at least one adhesive layer are also disclosed. Furthermore, the use of urea, or of a mixture of urea and another material as defined above, for preventing curling in a fibrous substrate during the production of a coated article, particularly a coated abrasive article, from said substrate, is disclosed.

L'invention concerne un support fibreux destiné à fabriquer un produit abrasif couché et contenant de l'urée ou un mélange d'urée et d'au moins un produit à caractère hygroscopique, en particulier un mélange d'urée et d'un sel inorganique, en particulier d'urée et de nitrate de sodium. L'invention concerne également les produits abrasifs couchés constitués d'un tel support et de grains abrasifs assujettis à l'une des faces de ce support par au moins une couche adhésive. Elle concerne également l'utilisation de l'urée ou d'un mélange d'urée et d'un autre produit tel que défini précédemment pour éviter le roulage d'un support fibreux lors de l'élaboration d'un produit couché, notamment d'un produit abrasif couché, à partir de ce support.
