The invention provides a field position viewer for daytime or nighttime use on agricultural implements having field working lights, the video field position viewer comprising a low-lux, colour video camera mounted at one or both outer ends of an agricultural implement and directed at the horizon and the ground below the horizon in the direction of implement travel to show a mark made by the implement on a previous pass of the implement; and a liquid crystal display colour monitor showing the camera view mounted so as to be viewed by the implement operator, thereby allowing the operator to steer the implement along the proper path with respect to the previous implement pass. A camera suitable for field use is provided wherein the operative parts are adhered to the camera enclosure with silicone globs. A heating element allows cold weather operation. A gauge may be provided to allow for precise guidance of the implement on the proper path. To allow monitoring of operator performance a recording device may be incorporated to allow later viewing of the camera view.
