An asynchronous FIFO (226) using Asynchronous NULL Convention logic (NCL) to facilitate interfacing (224, 228) between multiple non-synchronous systems (201, 203) with a minimum of design and verification. Multiple interfaces, configurations, means for minimising latency, and capabilities for datastream processing are also incorporated.
