FIFTH WHEEL COUPLING Abstract of the Disclosure A fifth wheel coupling comprises a king-pin follower engagable with a bottom flange on a king-pin as it moves into a slot of a fifth wheel plate whereby the follower releases a lock which is spring-biased to locked position whereat a rear jaw confines the king-pin against a front jaw of the plate. The lock engages the rear jaw along complementary wedge surfaces which in conjunction with an elongated pivot pin hole in the rear jaw ensures snug fit of the king-pin within the jaws despite worn condition of the parts.
