A locking device for the conventional hitch pin on a trailer wherein the device includes a generally U-shaped rigid one piece collar member having an enlarged opening dimensioned to slidably receive the recessed neck portion of the hitch pin. The legs and of the collar member are provided with a pair of oppositely facing counterbores and a through bore that are dimensioned to receive a tempered steel bar member and a lock member for captively engaging the bar member across the enlarged opening in the collar member.
