ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Sheet-like materials for example for use as synthetic fabrics, comprising a bundle of fine fibers having a maximum deformation ratio of about 12% and a minimum apparent density of 0.21 g/cm3, said fine fibers having a maximum denier of about 0.45 are disclosed. The materials are made by forming a fiber aggregate of multi-component fibers, removing one component from the fibers, eg. by dissolution, to convert each fiber to a bundle of fine fibers consisting of the residual component, shrinking and heat treating the aggregate and impregnating the aggregate with a binder.
