ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A multi-component spinnable thermoplastic fiber for use, for example, in forming matted and felted products, comprises a specified component of a copolymer of styrene and a higher alcohol ester of an acid, the other component being a thermoplastic polymer. The fibers have excellent drawability at low temperatures and excellent dimensional stability. A method of obtaining the fibers is also disclosed.
