ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A filamentary structure comprises a spiral thermo- plastic core filament disposed within a thermoplastic sheath component consisting either of a tube or of at least three thermoplastic filaments, the sheath component being joined to the successive turns of the core filament. The core fila- ment and the sheath component may comprise the same or different thermoplastic polymers, suitable polymer being polyamides, polyesters and polyolefins. The core filament and the sheath component may be extruded together from a spinning jet, and a plurality of the filamentary structures may be extruded side-by-side so that their sheath components are joined together to form a fabric structure.
