ABSTRACT A valve effects counterpressure filling of cans with carbonated liquids. The cans are of the type having a neck with a generally cylindrical inner surface extending over at least a part of the length thereof in the vicinity of an open end of the can. The valve comprises a valve body and a first valve member movable with respect to the valve body for dispensing counter- pressure gas to the cans. A second valve member is movable with respect to the valve body for dispensing liquid to the cans. Seal means are coupled to the valve body and sized to slidably and sealably engage the cylindrical inner surface of the neck of the cans, whereby cans may be effectively sealed to the valve for filling without excessive endloading on the cans.
