A MBE film deposition apparatus comprises a vacuum chamber provided with a partition wall for dividing the vacuum chamber into a first sub-chamber and a second sub-chamber, which are independently provided with a main evacuating apparatus and a auxiliary evacuating apparatus, respectively. The partition wall including an opening for introducing a vacuum impedance for molecular flows between the first sub-chamber and the second sub-chamber so that a pressure difference can be created between the first sub-chamber and the second sub-chamber when the opening is open. A gate valve is provided on the partition wall for hermetically closing the opening of the partition wall so as to shut off the molecular flows between the first sub-chamber and the second sub-chamber. At least one evaporation source is provided in the first sub-chamber, and a substrate holder is located within the second sub-chamber. A gas supplying apparatus is provided in the second sub-chamber so as to supplying a predetermined gas to the second sub-chamber.
Installation de couchage EJM comportant une chambre à dépression avec cloison de séparation servant à diviser la chambre de dépression en une première et une deuxième sous-chambre de dépression dont l'évacuation est assurée, respectivement, par un dispositif d'évacuation principal et par un dispositif d'évacuation auxiliaire. La cloison de séparation est pourvue d'une ouverture permettant l'introduction d'une impédance pour la création d'un courant moléculaire entre la première et la deuxième chambre de dépression, et dont l'ouverture permet de créer un différentiel de pression entre les sous-chambres de dépression. Un clapet obturateur monté sur la cloison de séparation permet de fermer hermétiquement l'ouverture et interdire toute circulation moléculaire entre les deux chambres. Au moins une source d'évaporation est aménagée à l'intérieur de la première chambre, tandis qu'un support pour substrat est aménagé dans la deuxième chambre. Un dispositif d'alimentation en gaz assure un niveau d'alimentation prédéterminé à l'intérieur de la deuxième sous-chambre de dépression.
