ABSTRACT The film inking unit for a rotary printing machine consists of a slowly rotating ink fountain roller (2) and a film roller (3) rotating fast compared to said ink fountain roller, both rollers forming a gap (4) of pre-determined width therebetween, in which before the inking unit rollers (5), as seen in direction of rotation, an additional intermediate roller (9), which takes ink from the film roller (3), and a doctor blade (11) for completely squeegeeing the ink film are assigend to the film roller (3) transferring the ink film onto fast-running inking unit rollers (5) (Fig. 1).
