The invention provides a substrate for reception of an electrophotographic image and use as a film positive or negative in a printing process. The substrate of the invention does not display the disadvantage of reduced contrast in the positive or negative which has been caused in the past by areas of the electrophotographic image not being sufficiently solid as a result of mutual-repulsion of toner particles. The substrate of the invention has a coating layer which has in its bulk a toner-coalescing agent which, under the influence of the heat of the fusing step of the electrophotographic process, brings about an improved degree of coalescence of the toner applied.
L'invention porte sur un substrat servant à la réception d'une image électrophotographique et utilisé en tant que film positif ou négatif dans un procédé d'impression. Le substrat de l'invention ne comporte pas l'inconvénient du contraste réduit dans le positif ou le négatif qui, par le passé, était causé par le manque d'aplat de certaines zones de l'image électrophotographique occasionné par la répulsion mutuelle de particules de toner. Le substrat de l'invention a une couche de revêtement possédant, dans sa masse, un agent coalescent de toner qui, sous l'influence de la chaleur utilisée à l'étape de fusion de l'image pendant l'électrophotographie, produit un degré de coalescence amélioré dans le toner appliqué.
