In order to permit the passage of dust and coarse particles or only the former, and to allow continuous operation, a filter disc (8) is arranged in a housing (3), in the air flow direction, so that it is rotatable to different operating postions. A diaphragm-like valve (10) can be provided upstream of the filter disc (8), at the inlet (A) of the air stream in housing (3). The filter disc is arranged on an axle (6) which is mounted in filter housing (3) and has an actuating element (9, 9') for rotation. In addition to the filter disc (8), an additional filter disc (13) can be arranged a distance away, the said filter disc (13) being designed for fine filtration and being removably clamped between the housing parts (3', 3'').
