The invention relates to a filter attachment adapted to be positioned in place of the conventional return air grille in a forced air system comprising, a rectangular box housing having a grille at one end of the housing adapted to receive and support a filter element. The dimensions of the housing are such as to define a space between the filter element and the free end of the housing. Since the filter element is provided at the end of the return air duct remote from the blower it is possible to dispense with the filter element adjacent the blower.
