ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention provides a filter bag for use in a filter unit for filtering dust from dust laden exhaust gases, such as air, from industrial operations, in which the bag is divided into an upper portion and a lower portion, the lower portion being separable from the upper portion. The bag is provided with means for releaseably connecting the upper end of the lower portion to a lower end of the upper portion in a dust-tight manner, such that the lower portion which is the one which is most likely to be damaged in the operation of the filtering unit can be readily and easily separated from the upper portion when so damaged and be disposed of, thus providing for a minimum down time of the filter unit for such replacement and also, reducing the cost of the operation of the unit with regard to the replacement of the filter bags.
