A prefilter bag (3) for insertion into a standard filtration bag apparatus (20), having a filtration assembly comprising a seamless filter membrane (10) having uniform pore openings preselected within the range of between about 2 and about 50 microns (µ) and a linearly channeled, nondeformable, semi- rigid liquid transport thermoplastic sheet (8) in the form of a molded webbing or netting in contact with the upper surface of the filter membrane (10); said webbing (8) having marginal edges (18) which are coextensive with those of the membrane (10); said assembly adapted to be shaped by continuous winding of the assembly upon itself for 2 to 5 complete convolutions around a tubular mandrel so as to form a cylindrical tube or cone; the bottom of said cylinder being sealed to prevent liquid leakage and the top of said cylinder, forming a liquid inlet opening, being sealed to a retaining ring (22) adapted to be inserted in, attached to or sealed to an outer, retaining ring (24) of a non- wrapped filter bag. The invention also pertains to a method for the fabrication and use of the present filtration bag.

L'invention porte sur un sac de préfiltrage (3) se plaçant dans un appareil (20) classique à sac-filtre comportant un ensemble de filtrage comprenant une membrane-filtre (10) sans couture présentant des pores uniformes présélectionnés d'un diamètre compris entre environ 2 et environ 50 microns et une feuille thermoplastique (8) à canaux linéaires, non déformable et semi-rigide, de transfert du liquide, sous la forme de sangle ou de filet moulé en contact avec la surface supérieure de la membrane-filtre (10), ladite sangle (8) présentant des bords marginaux (18) coïncidant avec ceux de la membrane (10), ledit ensemble étant formé par l'enroulement continu de l'ensemble sur lui-même sur 2 à 5 tours complets autour d'un mandrin tubulaire de manière à constituer un tube cylindrique ou un cône, la base dudit tube étant fermée pour éviter les fuites, et le sommet dudit cylindre, servant d'orifice d'introduction du liquide, étant fixé hermétiquement à un anneau de retenue (22) par insertion, couplage ou fixation hermétique à l'anneau de retenue (24) d'un sac-filtre non enveloppé. L'invention porte également sur un procédé de fabrication et d'utilisation du sac-filtre.
